Responsibilities & Role:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive HSE strategy for global operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain robust HSE governance structures, ensuring regular reporting to leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Work closely with site-level HSE teams to ensure consistent safety practices across multiple locations and operations.
- Oversee the integration of HSE risk management processes, continuously assessing and mitigating risks to ensure a safe and sustainable working environment.
- Ensure compliance with global HSE regulations, including sustainability reporting requirements such as EU CSRD and EU Taxonomy.
- Lead investigations of HSE-related incidents, determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.
- Maintain and enhance the company's HSE monitoring and reporting systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives in safety and environmental performance.
- Support the Global Engineering and Sustainability teams on HSE matters related to major projects, such as capital expenditures and energy transformation programs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, investors, and country-level HSE teams.
- Coordinate HSE communication and reporting across global operations, ensuring transparency and alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
Requirements & Profile:
- Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum of 10 years of global HSE leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or related industry, including at least 5 years in a regional or global capacity.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of global HSE regulations and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful HSE programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work with C-suite and executive leadership, providing strategic insights and guidance.
- A hands-on leader with a focus on execution and operational excellence.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and geographies.
- Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 10%.
