For our client, an international food manufacturer, with a well-recognized brand, we are looking for an experienced person to take the position of:
Technical Manager
Purpose of the position: As a Technical Manager at our vegetable plant, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of technical professionals. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and quality of our manufacturing processes.

Technical Manager
Purpose of the position: As a Technical Manager at our vegetable plant, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of technical professionals. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and quality of our manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Technical Oversight: Provide leadership and direction in all technical aspects of plant operations, including process optimization, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Project Management: Coordinate technical projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Production, Quality Assurance, SCM and procurement, to achieve overall plant objectives and resolve technical issues.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers, evaluating performance and negotiating contracts to ensure optimal service and value.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of plant personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting (20+ people team)
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, process optimization, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.
- Fluency in German and English
