Located in the vibrant heart of Kirchberg, Luxembourg, our client is a highly respected Private Debt Asset Management Firm with a growing presence across Europe.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative Fund-Controlling team in Luxembourg and London. As a Fund Controller, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing fund operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving investor returns.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Fund Structure Understanding: Demonstrate a deep understanding of Private Debt fund structures, including Limited Partnership Agreements, waterfalls, equalizations, and related intricacies.
- Quarterly Reporting: Prepare and review quarterly reports with external administrators, encompassing financial statements, NAV reconciliations, and Capital Account Statements for investors.
- Performance Calculations: Calculate and review performance metrics, including IRR and carried interest.
- Fund Cash Management: Manage fund cash flows, utilizing RCF, leverage facilities, or capital calls to optimize liquidity and minimize cash drag.
- Process Management: Ensure accurate processing of fund activities, including hedging, excluded investors, non-standard fund terms, and bespoke reporting requests.
- Capital Call and Distribution Coordination: Oversee and review capital call and distribution notices across multiple feeder entities and currencies.
- Equalization and Rebalancing: Prepare and review Equalization and rebalancing calculations.
- Administration Oversight: Manage administrators and tax advisors, taking the lead for allocated funds.
- Investor Relations Support: Collaborate with the team to respond promptly to investor queries.
- Fund Setup: Contribute to setting up new funds, including input into Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and other legal documents.
- Audit Management: Oversee audits for allocated funds, including the review of Luxembourg and K-1 tax returns.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Assist in various ad-hoc tasks and projects, including the ongoing data migration project.
Qualifications:
- A Chartered Accountant qualification (e.g., ACCA) or an equivalent certification.
- At least 3 years of experience in fund accounting within Private Debt or Real Estate Funds, with a strong understanding of the Luxembourg market.
- Previous experience in Luxembourg is required.
- The ability to grasp and effectively manage complex fund structures.
- A proven track record of automating processes, improving efficiencies, and tackling new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is a valuable asset.
