Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a leading telecommunications company in Ghana. This role requires a dynamic financial leader with a strong background in accounting and finance, ideally with prior experience in accounting firms. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, driving the company’s financial strategy, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and execute the financial strategy to support business growth and profitability.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Oversee financial planning processes to achieve the company’s goals and monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Ghanaian regulations.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including consolidation of accounts.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the company’s assets.
- Oversee internal controls and financial processes, ensuring their effectiveness and integrity.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements, minimizing financial risk exposure.

Operational Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing support for career development and performance improvement.
- Optimize cash flow, working capital, and overall financial efficiency across the organization.
- Support strategic decisions on capital expenditures, investments, and financial restructuring.

Investor and Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, banks, and other financial partners.
- Provide clear and concise financial reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company in negotiations with financial institutions and investment partners.

Telecommunications Industry Insight:
- Leverage industry knowledge to assess financial opportunities and challenges specific to telecommunications.
- Track market trends and competitor activity to inform financial strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
- Evaluate financial implications of new business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures within the telecom industry.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in Finance is preferred.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or other relevant accounting certification.
- 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within the telecommunications or technology industry.
- Prior experience in an accounting firm is highly preferred, with a solid understanding of audit, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Ghanaian GAAP, and tax regulations.
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning, analysis, and risk management in a dynamic business environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
