NKT Applications is looking for a new Portfolio & Process Manager for their business unit NKT Applications located in Broendby, Denmark.

The position as Portfolio & Process Manager, Applications offers exciting challenges in an international company that are frontrunners within the cable industry. The role
Fundamental purpose of Product Management is to translate market and customer needs into product roadmap and manage the full lifecycle of products and services to create exceptional customer value, generate long-term competitive advantage, and deliver year-after-year profitability.

Portfolio and process manager should ensure that we have Product Portfolio Strategy aligned with overall Applications Go-To-Market strategy and that we have competitive product portfolio to drive profitable growth. Trough clear and functional product lifecycle processes, this role will help creating more healthy balance between tactical and strategic aspects of Product Management. While still being in the forefront of top-level product support towards our sales organization and key customers, Product Management must reflect on all aspects of more strategic areas such as market intelligence, portfolio strategy, innovation and new product development and product lifecycle management. In this role, candidate will intensely collaborate with team of local product managers within our core markets, local sales organizations, marketing, our factories, procurement and other relevant stake holders.

Responsibilities and primary tasks

  • Drive product portfolio strategy process and execution (Product Strategy days, Roadmap reviews, etc.)
  • Facilitate and drive product roadmaps development and maintenance across entire portfolio
  • Identify Product, Market and Customer segment profit pools
  • Drive and coordinate Product Councils (cross functional Product level business reviews)
  • Define and execute product lifecycle management processes - govern “cradle-to-grave” product lifecycle including product phase-in and product phase-out
  • Manage portfolio complexity - Capture product synergies within and between markets/product families where possible
  • Understand functional and/or technical specification of product requirements.
  • Drive and coordinate market and competitor intelligence cross-functionally 
  • Support effective portfolio pricing to drive and manage profitability
  • Define, implement, follow up and improve metrics for product portfolio KPI evaluation; - Ensure results are used to drive performance cross functionally
  • Travelling up to 20-30 %, both domestic and internationally

  • Well defined and functioning PLM processes – cross functional interfaces defined and functional

The Profile
We are looking for an outgoing and emphatic facilitator with demonstrated leadership skills and with a targeted, agile and self-drive mindset. You drive your area and responsibilities independently and have a proactively and positive attitude. You see yourself as a great team player and mediator; you are passionate, can navigate in a complex cross-functional and agile environment and you adjust easily to different circumstances. Furthermore, you demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills, where. You know of essential business concepts and possess a solid business acumen that gives you the strength to communicate on all levels of the organisations, especially on management level.

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or equivalent. Experience and degrees in Product and Portfolio Management and commercial education would be a significant advantage. Furthermore, you have 5+ years of experience from similar roles within global and international business environments with knowledge and experience with the market, customers and product management fundamentals, portfolio management and product lifecycle management, (preferably from commoditized B2B and industrial companies) will also be preferred. You communicate fluently in English both verbally and written. German/ French would be a big plus.
