Our client, a multinational leader in the services sector is seeking for a Chief Accountant Officer for its offices in Madrid.
Reporting to the country CFO, the role is a highly accounting focused position, requiring an experienced accountant and finance leader. The Chief of Accountant will be responsible for the company control procedures, as well as supervision of the Group consolidated accounting process, with a strategic focus on taxes (mainly Income Tax) whilst ensuring that local Controls are in place and adhered to by a local CFO structure.
Key Responsibilities for the person in Charge:

The Chief of Accountant will be responsible for the company control procedures, as well as supervision of the Group consolidated accounting process, with a strategic focus on taxes (mainly Income Tax) whilst ensuring that local Controls are in place and adhered to by a local CFO structure.
Key Responsibilities for the person in Charge:
- Building a solid and strong accounting closing process to ensure the accuracy of the accounting data and meeting the reporting deadlines to the Group, ensuring local compliance in each Operating entity across multiple territories:
- Existing procedures review and new one’s implementation will be key for the success of the position.
- General Ledger management & Accounting Reporting preparation,
- Tax Strategy and implementation (Transfer Pricing, Income tax, etc.),
- Consolidated Financial Statements,
- Lead the external financial audit,
- Analytical accounting approach is crucial.
- Strategic Finance Partner to country CFO: Key part of the Finance team will be responsible to ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the accounting information along the whole Spanish Group (12 entities in 7 countries). Work close with CFO in the internal control framework definition and being responsible of ensuring compliance. Key person in the post transaction integration of every add-on, special focus on accounting, cash and internal control procedures.
- Team player, with specific ability to collaborate with an administration team, bringing out the best in each one of them,
- Someone who is not afraid to roll up his or her sleeves to work from the bottom up to move projects forward,
- Eager to learn, understand and challenge existing systems (at accounting, cash and billings level) and procedures,
- Ready to work on a challenging company in the middle of a significant culture change, will need to be a driver change.
- English speaker (advanced level).
- University studies is a must.
- Specialization programs in accounting, consolidation or taxes will be well considered.
- SAGE200 knowledge will be positively considered.
