Oxford & Cherwell Area
Morgan Philips Group are delighted to bring to the market an extremely exciting and fast-paced Area Operations Manager role with a high-end Contract Cleaning & Facilities Management business with an very enviable client list. This is a fast growing business with excellent personal development and career opportunities. The role will be to manage staff, oversee quality and organise large teams of cleaners on various client sites across Oxford and the Cherwell Area of Oxfordshire - with a once a month visit to a site in Bristol also required. There are 2 very large main sites (Cherwell) and a handful of other much smaller clients within the territory that you would manage. We need a candidate with a full UK driving license and a Car Allowance is provided as part of the scheme - unless you would prefer to get involved in the company Electric Car Scheme?
Having spoken at length with our client about suitable background for this role I think its fair to direct potential clients that a background in a Cleaning or Facilities Management would be advantageous but the skills required are extremely similar to that of an Area Operations Manager / Area Manager in a large hospitality / pub chain type of business, so we are open to some other backgrounds too. The work background is of course only a small part of the requirements. This was a particularly interesting role to learn about and it became clear that a vital skill required was strong time management skills and organisational skills along with a good work ethic and a genuine professional pride that if you attach your name to something, its because the standard matches your own expectations as well as that of the business.
Skills Required:
People Skills - Recruitment, On-boarding, People Development, Performance Management, Training
Process Ability - Implement Best Practice Procedures, Good Checking / Audit Paperwork
Client Engagement - Ensure Client Satisfaction, Address Client Concerns Promptly. For these clients particularly - always ensure confidentiality!
Personal Skills - Positive Attitude, Good Work Ethic, Strong Leadership, Excellent Attention to Detail & Organisation
This permanent, full-time (approx 45hrs a week) role has a Basic Salary of £35,000 with a Car Allowance of £3,600, a Bonus £3,600 for hitting the basic KPIs. Furthermore there is an additional Bonus Scheme of 1%-2% of all consumables that you/your team can up-sell and an impressive 2%-5% commission of any new business you were able to introduce, although I must stress that this is not an expectation of the role, simply an additional reward mechanism if you did introduce a new client. I think this is an absolutely fascinating role with a great client, very positive culture and a real opportunity for personal career growth.
