The Role

You will be responsible for handling a range of employment matters, on behalf of clients, which will include both contentious and non-contentious matters. You will have the exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base including national and international companies based in transport, retail, manufacturing and logistics.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Handling employer and employee work - the majority of the workload will be on behalf of the employer
  • You will be attending client meetings and taking instructions
  • Representing clients in court during disputes, when necessary.
  • Instructing counsel to appear in court, on behalf of the client, when more complex disputes arise
  • Assisting and some supervision of more junior fee earners, delegating work to rotating trainee solicitors and collaborating with other team members to work on complex matters.
  • Drafting of documents, contracts and letters

About you

Personality is key; the team are keen to welcome a solicitor who is enthusiastic, passionate and will inject energy into the work they are given.

You will also possess:

  • Up to 3 years PQE in employment law - if you are newly qualified, then you will have undertaken a seat in employment during your training contract
  • A desire to specialise in employment law
  • An appetite to collaborate with the team on their projects whilst undertaking your own employment work
