Key responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of clients, with support from Senior HR Consultants. This will include building and maintaining positive relationships with existing and potential clients, taking proactive steps to maintain and increase client income, managing client service expectations according to budget, reviewing monthly time reports and being a main point of contact for all client-related queries.
Provide support to the Senior HR Consultants presenting to new clients. This will include understanding the client needs, identifying industry trends and market data and the preparation of proposal documents.
Record and manage client employee data to ensure managers are aware of probationary period expiry dates, performance management review dates, maternity leave dates, levels of employee sickness absence,
Maintain client employee files and data; reporting on appropriate management information to clients as requested including starters and leaver information, turnover and retention levels etc.
Provide expert advice on all HR related issues for client group, such as disciplinary and grievance matters, business reorganisations, TUPEs, redundancies (including collective consultations), terminations of employment, performance meetings, maternity/paternity queries and sickness absence. This will involve attending internal meetings at client premises, either as an advisor or conducting meetings on a client's behalf.
Support the wider team to carry out ad hoc projects for clients including benchmarking exercises, appraisal and performance management system development, staff communications, compliance research; training programmes and other ad hoc work as required.
Attend client sites on a regular basis. This may be on a weekly basis, acting as internal advisor to clients' employees.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish self quickly and gain credibility with clients.
Able to provide pragmatic HR advice to a variety of clients; taking into account their particular business and culture, their goals and objectives and HR legislation.
Confidence and presence to influence and advise all levels of management effectively. This will include Company directors and owners
Strong inter-personal skills.
Highly knowledgeable and competent in preparing and writing HR documentation and sound knowledge of HR best practice and UK employment law.
Fully CIPD qualified or equivalent
Previous experience working in Retail, Hospitality, Facilities or similar
