We have partnered with a global professional services firm who are seeking a Regulatory Insights Insurance Conduct Manager based in London.

We are looking for ambitious and driven individuals with a strong background in:
* Regulation
* Technical Expertise
* Broader Interest in the Regulatory / Risk Landscape
* Ability to view things holistically - horizon scanning
* Ability to write reports
* Industry experience in Regulators, Consultancies, Trade bodies, Treasury or similar

Skills and attributes for success 
* Supporting clients and client delivery teams with industry and technical expertise on prudential matters for banks and investment firms
* Occasionally acting as subject matter expert on engagements
* Undertaking horizon scanning activities and identifying potential new opportunities for the firm
* Contributing to the work of FSRI focusing on new regulatory developments, wider themes and regulators’ policymaking, supervisory and enforcement activities
* Producing written analysis and information, including internal briefings, client publications, marketing materials, website content, press releases, etc.
* Conducting technical research, training, speaking at client events, responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies etc.
* Engaging with regulators and policymakers on areas of expertise and supporting the activity of FSRI’s wider regulatory relations team.

Ideally, you’ll also have
* Demonstrable experience in insurance conduct and be able to identify how risk and regulatory challenges will impact clients, as well as an awareness of the wider issues affecting this sector. 
* Previous experience is likely to have been in a firm, or a policy/supervisory department at one of the regulators. 
* Alternatively, the candidate may have gained his or her experience from working in an industry body, government department, law firm or consulting firm.

To qualify for the role, you must have
* Deep technical grounding in insurance conduct regulation, especially Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), SM&CR, product value and governance requirements and vulnerability guidance with expertise in understanding and interpreting rules around the fair treatment of customers, retirements outcome reviews (investment pathways) and FCA’s expectations for pension providers and advisors. 
* The candidate should also have an understanding of cross-sectoral issues impacting the insurance sector, such as operational resilience and climate risk-related regulatory developments from a conduct perspective.
* Knowledge of the insurance sector, including the typical business and operational models of clients in this sector
* Broad knowledge of UK and EU regulatory and supervisory structure, the regulatory development process for financial services and the current EU regulatory agenda
* Experience of advising on PRA principles, rules and regulatory processes
* Excellent technical, delivery and communication skills including using social media and other technology
* Ability to make new contacts, build strong relationships with clients and regulators, listen to and understand client needs
* Desire and ability to interpret regulatory changes into new opportunities to assist clients, drawing on wider geopolitical, technological and demographic issues.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience working with the UK or equivalent overseas regulator.
* Knowledge of the investment firms’ sector is a plus.
