Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our client's team. This role involves performing service, preventative maintenance, modifications, and installations of advanced medical device equipment at client sites. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal system performance, deliver exceptional customer satisfaction, and uphold the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct service tasks, including repairs, maintenance, and installations on advanced medical equipment with minimal supervision.
- Provide effective on-site customer repairs, ensuring timely and high-quality resolutions.
- Deliver operator training to optimize system performance and enhance user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Marketing, and Training, to ensure customer success.
- Accurately complete administrative tasks, including service call documentation and inventory management of tools and parts.
- Adhere to safety protocols defined by the company and customer site requirements.
- Maintain compliance with annual training and certification standards.
- Perform duties primarily at customer sites, such as hospitals or medical facilities, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and allergens.
- Safely operate required tools, equipment, and machinery with manual dexterity and precision.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Alternatively, a 2-year technical degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- At least 4 years of field service experience, particularly with capital equipment, surgical robotic systems, or diagnostic medical devices.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong background in electronics, mechanics, and software technologies.
- Proficiency in using service tools, test equipment, and general troubleshooting techniques.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making and resource management abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Technology Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer-based tools.
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to work various shifts, travel frequently, and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Adaptability to respond to short-notice travel or extended work hours as needed.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to wear protective gear and comply with safety standards as required.
