At Morgan Philips we are looking for a Business Operations Manager for one of our clients in the Food & Beverage sector.
Sector: Food & Beverage.
Growing premium wine importing company, with a consolidated portfolio of exclusive labels from Europe (France, Spain, Italy) and Latin America (Chile and Argentina). Focused on delivering high-end experiences through differentiated products, we operate with a strategic vision centered on logistical efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable profitability.
Main responsibilities:
- Coordinate the entire wine importation process: purchase orders, documentation, shipments, and customs clearance.
- Manage relationships with over 60 international suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with suppliers and terms with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Oversee compliance with legal requirements: tax stamps, labeling, fiscal documentation (SAT).
- Control logistics costs and identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with bonded warehouses and local storage facilities (CDMX) to ensure proper merchandise flow.
- Keep the inventory system updated and coordinate monthly inventory checks.
- Responsible for forecasting demand and planning supplier orders to ensure efficient and timely supply.
- Ensure compliance with applicable INCOTERMS in each operation.
- Work closely with local teams (administration, finance, and sales) to ensure integrated operations.
- Support container profitability analysis and logistics cost evaluation.
- Market analysis; monitor market trends, identify development opportunities, and adapt import strategies.
Profile requirements:
- Negotiation skills: Ability to negotiate with suppliers and clients.
- Management competencies: Organize and efficiently coordinate import processes.
- Legal and customs knowledge: Mastery of applicable import regulations.
- Communication skills
- Foreign language proficiency: To communicate with international suppliers and clients.
Experience and knowledge:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in international imports (food, beverage, pharmaceutical sectors).
- Solid knowledge of international trade, logistics, INCOTERMS, and customs processes in Mexico.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills (advanced Excel proficiency).
- Experience in inventory control, logistics costs, and international documentation.
- Attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience with fiscal platforms (SAT, tax stamp requests, etc.)
- Strong communication and interdepartmental collaboration skills.
- Business vision.
- Languages: Spanish (native), French (intermediate or advanced), English (intermediate or advanced).
