Regional Finance Director

Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing and technology, is seeking a Finance Director to spearhead the finance function at their new production facility in Penang, Malaysia. This role is pivotal in driving financial strategy, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with international and local accounting standards.

How you'll add value

• Oversee entire finance controllership and operations team including Plant Controlling, US GAAP & Statutory Compliance, Tax, Treasury and Cash flow, Finance Ops, Year/ Quarter End close, Internal controls and Audit
• Head end to end Finance relevant projects including process re-engineering, system enhancement, JV, M&A and integrations, due diligence etc.
• Create a healthy finance process workflow with Business peers from a costing perspective, inventory, procurement and vendor budget management
• Further develop the team's capability, career growth and succession planning from executive all the way to Financial Controller level
• Establish and lead a Shared Services team to support financial operations
• Act as final escalation points for Finance Business Partners on the requirements of all departments (Tech, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.)

Who we want

• Proven experience within a Finance leadership role in a similar capacity
• CPA/ ACCA/ ICAEW/ CIMA qualified. Big 4 Audit trained
• Rolled up sleeves and hands-on nature with ability to switch hats into a strategic decision maker
• Strong background in the manufacturing or technology sector, with exposure to US-listed companies being highly preferred.
• Industry exposure across Manufacturing/ Engineering/ Electronics would be good
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
