About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing scalable, robust, and maintainable backend systems that power core products and applications. You’ll collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create cloud-native solutions that are performant, secure, and built to scale.

This role is perfect for builders—engineers who love to roll up their sleeves, solve complex problems, and contribute across the entire development lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native backend systems using modern technologies and best practices.

• Write clean, efficient, and testable code that powers APIs, services, and internal tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between front-end and backend components.

• Create and manage database schemas and queries, ensuring data integrity and performance.

• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Implement and enforce backend security and data protection best practices.

• Continuously improve development processes through automation, feedback, and tooling.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies to keep our stack modern and effective.

What We’re Looking For
Required:

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.

• Solid foundation in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, Python).

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with cloud services like ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, and SQS.

• Strong grasp of REST API design, distributed systems, and loosely coupled architecture.

• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Flask, Django).

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and Git-based workflows.

• Understanding of security best practices in backend development.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points for:

• Experience with data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).

• Familiarity with caching systems like Redis or Memcached.

• Monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).

• Testing practices using frameworks like Jest, Pytest, etc.

• Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK, Pulumi) and container tech (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
