Our Client is an international producer in the bakery sector. With factories and research centres all over Europe, the firm can quickly respond to local market needs. The group employs more than 4000 people, produce and sell bakery products to consumers, supermarkets and the catering industry.
Currently, for the central R&D department within the international business unit Frozen the company is looking to hire:
R&D Manager Bakery (Group Function)
Key responsibilities:
• Working closely with the Production Technologists, Quality Managers and Production Managers in the local production sites in different countries (Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Turkey).
• Developing innovations in close cooperation with the NPD and marketing teams.
• Managing a team of Food Technology & Innovation specialists, taking care of team development.
• Leading the pilot bakery related to the product category Bread, indirectly leading the local Production Technologists (dotted lines).
• Managing the teams in applying the best proven production & quality practices from ingredients, over processes to end products by giving them professional technological advice.
• Building, maintaining and spreading the knowledge base relevant for the product category bread (combining scientific knowledge, craftsmanship, and practical implementation).
• Creating training sessions to relevant stakeholders and new trainees on the essentials of the product category.
• Leading the start-ups of new technologies (ingredients, recipes, process, storage, bake off parameters) and the creation of new products.
• Reporting to the International R&D Director in the BU Frozen.
Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree or equivalent in food production technology.
• Experience in processes industrialization.
• Experience in bakery or passionate by baking bread will be an asset.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Willing to travel in Europe 40-60% of the time.
• Passion to develop top level products and technologies and knowing how to do it.
• Drive and personality to manage and build relationships with all stakeholders.
• Experienced in project management: challenged by complexity, getting topics prioritized.
• Flexibility, agility and readiness to work in a dynamic environment.
