Director of Engineering – TV Technology
Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the TV Technology team based in Hsinchu. This role is ideal for a senior technology leader with a strong background in TV architecture, system innovation, and product development. The successful candidate will drive the development and execution of technology roadmaps, balancing innovation with cost-efficiency to deliver competitive TV solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead a high-performing engineering team focused on technology innovation in picture quality, display, and system architecture for next-generation TV products

Define and execute technology strategies and proof-of-concept (PoC) programs, turning key innovations into production-ready features

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, industry partners, vendors, ODMs, and academic institutions

Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform and shape the product roadmap

Balance feature development with cost leadership to deliver commercially competitive solutions

Represent the team in internal and external technology discussions and industry forums
Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in TV engineering, including leadership roles in hardware/software system design

Strong hands-on experience in prototyping and technology validation (software and hardware)

Proven track record in leading R&D teams and successfully delivering innovations into mass production

Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: system architecture, picture quality, video processing, display technology, and machine learning

In-depth understanding of TV cost structures and the ability to identify cost-reducing innovations

Strong network within the technology ecosystem, including vendors, universities, and industry stakeholders

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor technical presentations to various audiences

Fluent in English and Mandarin

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Active participation in industry conferences or contributions to research and technology forums is a plus
