The job is a field-based expert in ophthalmic surgery, responsible for training and supporting healthcare professionals in the use of ophthalmic medical devices. Key responsibilities include providing high-level surgical training, supporting clinical studies, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure optimal device usage and patient safety. The role requires a scientific degree (PhD, MSc, or MD preferred), significant experience in ophthalmic surgery and device training, excellent communication and English skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent training and preparation for ophthalmic device procedures with surgeons and healthcare professionals.
- Lead and manage comprehensive training programs, including virtual and lab-based sessions.
- Provide on-site and remote support for device application during surgeries and maintain close collaboration with cross-functional and clinical teams.
- Identify and fulfill training needs to support device development, proposing and executing relevant projects.
- Foster key relationships with clinical trial centers, Therapeutic Area experts, and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to device development and clinical studies by advising on protocol and product improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a scientific field (PhD, MSc, MD preferred) with an ophthalmology focus and 3+ years in surgical training or relevant experience.
- Strong training skills, communication, and customer relationship management.
- Willingness to travel 60-70% and work independently with high organizational skills.
- Proven adaptability, attention to detail, and teamwork in a cross-functional environment.
