Operation Project Manager

Our client is a global Power System Solution/Automation company.  

Title: Operation Project Manager 
Location: Taipei or Kaohsiung, Taiwan 
Supervise: 6 Engineer + 1 PM

Mission Statement:

• Local or regional management of all project execution activities in the area of responsibility. Ensure operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. Coordinate and oversee team development and standardized process development to continually improve the effectiveness of project execution teams.
• To provide sales support; and to execute contracts in a project and/or engineering capacity during all stages of the project execution, i.e., from contract to handover in accordance with our policies and customer focus guidelines and as per the conditions laid out in the contract with the customer.
• S/he also holds the accountability to ensure the after-service activities are well performed to satisfy the customers’ various service needs, according to the service requests and/or service orders/agreements.
• To drive the HSE performance of own team and sub-suppliers, according to Global Division’s guideline, fulfilling the annual results to deliver, for example, but not limited to, team training programs, Hazard Reports, and SOT within the local Division.
• Prepare and implement the local resources plans, and competence development plan for the  PES team at Local Division, Taiwan.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Leads implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local or regional project operation under the guidance of the Global Project Operations Manager.
2. Ensures that the regional/ local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and our Policies.
3. Leads and oversees the project execution teams locally/regionally, ensuring that our Policies are consistently followed. Develops, customizes and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting us and external best practices.
Ensures that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
4. Participates in the budgeting process, jointly with the Local Division/Business Line Manager and Controller.
Participates in Sales and Operations planning with other members of the Local Division/Business Line/Product Group management team, and takes actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity.
5. Supervises project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfillment, and approves any project deviations. Takes an active role in resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer.
Ensures the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
6. Ensures that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with our policies and contractual agreements.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

·       Electrical engineering background with administration and management training with relevant experience in a similar industry
·       Experience in project management tools and techniques
·       Experience in project management, engineering, and service.
·       Knowledge of  Marine & Ports, e.g., Electrical Control of Cranes, and Electrical Propulsion, is a plus.
·       Experience of leading a team is desired.
·       Fluent in English communication. ​
