Overview
Product engineering plays a critical role in delivering high-quality connectivity products to the market. As a Product Engineer, you will:
-
Define and develop test programs for photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and optical engines.
-
Own the definition and optimization of manufacturing flows and test content for quality and cost efficiency.
-
Collaborate with design and firmware/controls teams on DFx features.
-
Analyze production data to identify issues and drive cross-functional solutions.
This position requires close partnership with fab, design, packaging, validation, and manufacturing teams to bring best-in-class connectivity products to market.
Key Responsibilities
-
Develop and maintain test programs; own the success of test insertions in the manufacturing flow.
-
Define requirements for test hardware (probe cards and loadboards) to achieve target test coverage.
-
Establish manufacturing strategy and test flow to meet product health indicators.
-
Collaborate with design and firmware teams to implement DFT/DFx features.
-
Reduce test time and eliminate redundant test sockets to achieve cost targets.
-
Improve product quality by driving DPM (defects per million) reduction through enhanced test coverage.
-
Improve yield by identifying root causes of failures and working with design, fab, and packaging teams to close gaps.
Basic Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
-
3+ years of experience in PIC/SiPh product development and test.
-
6+ years of industry experience as a product development engineer.
-
Hands-on experience developing test programs and specifying test hardware for optical communications products.
-
Deep understanding of photonic device theory of operation and photonics fabrication processes.
-
Experience collaborating with fabs and OSAT partners to drive yield and quality improvements in photonic products.
-
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex technical information.
Preferred Qualifications
-
PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
-
Experience establishing end-to-end manufacturing strategies for photonic integrated circuits.
-
Experience developing test programs for optical I/O products on industry-standard ATE platforms.
-
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and external customers.
-
Familiarity with photonic simulation environments (Python, MATLAB, Verilog) to anticipate design marginalities and discrepancies before silicon release.
