Job Title: Technical Manager
Location: Taiwan
Reporting to: Factory Director

Job Purpose:
  1. Provides project management, leadership, coordination, standardization, and innovation via Engineering team. Maximizes the availability and capability of production equipment through implementation of standardized asset designs, layouts, operations, and maintenance strategies with low downtime, minimal maintenance cost.
  2. Support our activities via project management tools, work with Factory IE to ensure related functions in factory are aligned with actions and milestone, for quality and successful launch.
  3. Lead teamwork and development engineering staff.
 
Job Responsibility:
Technical Function
 
  1. Ensures on-time schedules and execution of planned maintenance activities and continuous improvement of all factory equipment to deliver reliability of assets for manufacturing.
  2. Develops and continually improves assets and equipment using our standards; networking with Global Engineering to benchmark and promote Engineering excellence.
  3. As member of the Safety Committee, conducts plant safety inspections and recommends changes in equipment to obtain a safe working condition.
  4. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to schedule manpower and resources to ensure the most effective production and maintenance outcomes.
  5. Monitors the energy consumption and recommends use of alternative energy resources or appropriate changes in use of energy based on availability.
  6. Lead our projects for energy and water sustainability, continuously reduce the base load for resource and cost optimization.
  7. Prepares preliminary plans and designs to upgrade/expand the facilities of the factory (such as building, machineries and utilities) to support changes in production plan, launch of new products, or due to the legal or company requirements.
  8. Performs liaison on all technical matters with Global and a variety of outside contractors and vendors.
  9. Works with TS, Q&FS, and Material Planner in determining specification required when purchasing machineries and equipment.
  10. Maintains the Maintenance/Engineering budget and controls the Capital Budget/Expenditure.
  11. Understands, identifies, and practices Quality and Food Safety Procedures and standards in handling products, ensuring equipment can deliver quality as specified.
  12. Automation and digitalization thus to reduce the overhead of production activities.
 
Activity Support
  1. Solid project management skills and cross functional leadership in NPD.
  2. Work with Factory IE and TS for product development activities via project management.
  3. Based on market demand to develop 3 years master plan to support potential growth.
  4. Support product trials for recipe, raw materials, or packaging materials’ change/upgrade/New
  5. Support product development when there is needs for equipment acquisition, upgrade, or remove, for new technologies and capacity constraints.
  6. Facilitate risk assessment and mitigation plan discussion in every stage throughout the project/activity and share timely with key stakeholders for visibility and alignment.
  7. Ensure that activity objectives, key deliverables, and critical success criteria are agreed and met throughout the life cycle.
 
Leadership
  1. Coaching of peers & engineering team members to improve their technical capability.
 
Job Specifications   
Education & Professional Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical I Electrical I Chemical Engineering or equivalent Professional licenses are plus
Acknowledgement/Experience
With 10 years engineering experience in a multinational manufacturing company with the last 5 years in a managerial capacity
With FMCG experience/background in project and maintenance engineering
Solid background in mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles as well as Manufacturing Resource Planning , Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
