Responsible of global Production, EHS and Supply chain for chemical manufacturer

Position Overview
________________________________________________________________________________________
 
Under the direction of the COO, the Global Director, Operations provides strategic direction across all operations and supply chain including procurement, sourcing, value analysis, logistics & inventory, as well as managing all crucial aspects of Operation, Supply Chain and Environmental Health and Safety. As a key member of the Leadership team, the Global Director will partner with other leaders to outline and execute strategy for both Operations and the Company as a whole. This key member of the leadership team will  develop, deploy and execute a global operational optimization strategy that provides the best competitive position with core competencies, localized supply chain, and coordinated communication.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior management to develop strategic plans and long-term objectives and provide strategic direction, objectives, and functional plans for all Global subsidiaries;
  • Develop, communicate, and track goals and objectives necessary to the success of the Operations/Supply Chain Division, as it relates to the success of the Company;
  • Make final decisions on operational matters where erroneous decisions will have serious impact to the overall success of the Company;
  • Ensure processes and policies are implemented in compliance with Company standards and good Position Specification;
  • Ensure business processes comply with regulatory requirements to minimize risk to the organization;
  • Develop a senior Leadership Team effective in leading and managing the daily activities of the Operations department, while providing coaching and career development as well as performance management when necessary;
  • Responsible for planning, budgeting, and cost effectiveness;
  • Drive net productivity while supporting revenue growth to increase gross margins over the current strategic plan horizon;
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing cycle time and increasing yields, while using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Evaluate the current organization strengths and key improvement opportunities to develop and execute plans for continued operational improvements and profitable growth;
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and ethical work environment through compliance of corporate and applicable government agency policies that protect the workforce and the environment and exceed industry standards;
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance to local, national, and global and all other relevant regulatory and subsidiary and global guidelines;
  • Assess the manufacturing and supply chain footprint to maximize asset utilization and optimize manufacturing strategy initiatives to reduce lead times and create a competitive advantage in customer service. Evaluate make versus buy decisions to determine most efficient and effective method to deliver products;
  • Drive working capital efficiencies through the supply chain achieving year-over-year performance improvements in inventory and working capital management;
  • Manage the business system and continuous improvement programs across this group, tracking and reporting on cost savings, cost avoidance, and operational efficiency gains on a routine basis;
  • Build culture of excellence in quality standards and systems, metrics, and reporting for manufacturing. Provide leadership in driving overall execution of lower working capital and overall product quality metrics;
  • Influence and empower vital stakeholders to execute vision and strategy by encouraging adoption of necessary changes for improvement and achievement of desired goals;
  • Successfully maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business groups throughout the product life cycle;
  • Partner in close collaboration with shared services including Finance, IT, Human Resources, and Global Chemistry, Quality and Regulatory organizations for overall operational excellence.
  • Develop robust scenario planning to proactively identify critical supply & operational uncertainties that may challenge the Company’s ability to meet the global demand.
  • Participate in the development of Global Capacity planning through establishing a robust Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning system:
  • Ensure supply strategies matching the internal & external customer needs for rapid delivery of materials, and products in development.
  • Provide oversight and support global production strategy, due diligence and technical operations interfacing with contract development/manufacturing or strategic partners.
  •  Ensure appropriate priorities, expectations, and results between the company and supply chain partners are defined using Service Level Agreements and Supply Contracts. Assure compliance with regulatory standards and corporate policies.
  • Mentor Operations, Supply Chain and EHS staff and ensure they receive appropriate knowledge, development and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) impact policies are successfully implemented throughout our global operations in all countries.
  • Ensure proficient supply chain team support for production planning, material procurement, inventory control, product tracking, import/export permits, shipping/receiving, and cold chain logistics.
  • Ensure consistency and communication clarity to both internal and external stakeholders on allocation and approach for global procurement, second sourcing, supply and delivery schedule.
  • Perform related duties as required.
 
Required Education and Experience
________________________________________________________________________________________
 
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar required
  • 15 years’ experience in chemical Operations Management, Supply Chain management, HSE management; experience in Agriculture production preferred; 10+ years Global Operations and Supply Chain and HSE experience required;
  • 10 – 15 + Management/Leadership experience in the areas of production, quality, supply planning, sourcing and procurement, logistics and Tech Ops business systems;
  • 10 + years’ experience supporting/interacting with regulatory meetings and inspections • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and/or Green Belt preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
