Job Summary

The Senior Cost Analyst facilitates and develops manufacturing cost analyses, forecasts, management reporting, presentation of scenarios and cost simulations, make vs. buy decisions, SOFP processes, and production planning for the Client’s Data Center Cooling group, while also executing special projects as directed by the Group VP Finance. This professional develops, coordinates and implements easily understood cost management reporting tools and processes that allow company personnel to make timely and informed business decisions.

  • Complete cost management analysis and reports related to the manufacturing and service revenue streams for the Data Center Cooling business, measuring performance and explaining cost and profit drivers
  • Supports and facilitates the Sales, Operational, and Financial Planning  (SOFP) process, leading forecast and budget planning processes, conducting financial analyses for the business.
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual results to business leadership teams.
  • Analyze complex cost information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes in an objective and insightful way.
  • Partner with other business analyst functions to enhance understanding of business and build reporting and analytics capability across the businesses.
  • Conduct cost modeling and scenario analyses for strategic initiatives, cost improvement projects and other business improvement ideas.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses to further drive efficiencies, accuracy and insight within the company.
  • Prepare and review CAPEX and cost saving initiatives aligned with the Data Center Cooling business manufacturing strategy.                                                                                                                                 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Engineering and minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, including prior financial analysis experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor Syteline preferred) and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, Analysis ToolPak, and effective model building).
  • Strong business and management accounting acumen experience required, supplemented with data analytics, data mining, and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with various functional groups within the organization.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a teamwork environment in which employees are treated with respect.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using standard and actual costing methods.
  • Proven ‘attention to detail’ ability, and ensuring analyses tie out to source data. 
  • Travel is less than 20%.
