We’re looking for a VP, US Site General Manager for a listed electronic materials company based in Taiwan. Experience of managing a business unit/group in a well – established electronics or chemical organization is required. This is a newly created position, reporting to the CEO. The candidate will need to work in Taiwan the first year and then relocate to US, Greater Los Angeles area. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Set up a New Business Unit in the US and lead the BU to maximize its productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Take full profit & loss responsibility.
  • Lead and manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Technology Transfer from Taiwan to the new site in the Greater Los Angeles area.
  • Plan and implement operational, business, and product strategies, priorities, and action items to achieve the business targets.    
  • Report to the corporate CEO directly. Work closely with other senior leaders within the group of the companies and ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives are developed in tandem with the leadership team.
  • Analyze the operational efficiencies and identify areas of process enhancement and /or improvement.
  • Hire and train new managers/staff to continuously grow the new site in the US and ensure employee retention. Trace and improve employee productivity, ensuring managers & employees thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
Requirements:
  • Currently holding a senior post, most likely Sr. Director or Vice President, and managing a sizeable organization of 500+ people with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales, & PM functions under his/her supervision.  
  • Desired industry background: electronics design & manufacturing, semiconductors, CCL, PCB, automotives, networking.  
  • Overseas working and/or educational experience is highly desired.
  • Knows how to interpret costs, benefits and business implications from financial statements and Data. 
  • Has experience managing cross functional teams to tackle major project or develop new product.
  • Native Chinese speaker or at least can communicate adequately in Chinese speaking business environment. Speaks adequate English socially along with ability to conduct business dealings in English with Westerners.  
  • Mobility to work in Taiwan (70%+ of the time in the first year) and then relocate to the Greater Los Angeles area.
