Can you imagine leading space solutions that connect people, monitor the Earth, or explore the universe? At Thales Alenia Space, that’s just the beginning.
Our client is a global joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), with over 40 years of experience developing cutting-edge space technologies for telecommunications, navigation, exploration, defense, science, and environmental monitoring.
In Spain, they are a technological leader, with over 1,200 employees and an annual turnover exceeding €320 million, exporting 40% of their production to the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America.
Now, we’re looking for an Analog and Digital Electronics Engineer who wants to make a lasting impact — on Earth and far beyond.
Your Mission As an Analog and Digital Electronics Engineer, you will manage hardware engineering activities at the corresponding level (unit or unit element). You will ensure the overall coherence of the engineering process, practices, and tools, organizing co-engineering as necessary.
You will serve as the technical focal point for your project — working closely with the client and having real influence on key decisions:
- Manage hardware engineering activities.
- Ensure coherence in engineering processes and tools.
- Understand technical requirements and define solutions.
- Track competitiveness KPIs, perform root cause analysis, and carry out associated corrective actions.
- Ensure project commitments, including stakeholder requirements within the constraints provided by the Architect and Project Design Authority.
- Optimize technical work by organizing electronic design reviews and participating in lower-level element reviews, from design to validation and acceptance.
Activities:
- Analog and digital design for onboard electronics, including design validation through engineering models.
- Understanding technical requirements and defining technical solutions.
- Electrical schematic capture.
- Support for post-layout/placement activities.
- Technical exchanges with software, firmware, and test bench departments as necessary for design validation activities.
- Technical exchanges with the thermomechanical department as necessary for design definition and electronic verification activities.
- Support for industrialization methods department.
- Preparation of design documentation for internal or client design reviews.
- Analog/digital electronics simulations.
- Microprocessor design environment.
Who We’re Looking For
- A Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Electronics, with solid experience in analog electronic design.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in analog electronic design.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in digital electronic design: communication buses, memories, FPGAs.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal; knowledge of French is valued.
- Knowledge of design tools: OrCAD, Pspice, Simplix/Simetrix, Mentor Graphics, DxDesigner.
- Valued knowledge in TC/TM digital design.
- Valued knowledge in actuator design.
- Valued knowledge in data processing with FPGAs.
- Valued knowledge in signal integrity simulation tools (Hyperlinx or SI Wave, etc.).
- Valued knowledge of space standards (ECSS) and electronic interface standards.
- Valued knowledge in high-speed digital design, including multicore processors.
- Valued knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and programming experience.
Skills:
- Teamwork orientation.
- Rigorous design, including the design validation process.
- Communication skills.
- Proactivity.
- Creative problem-solving.
- Leadership.
- Responsibility for technical performance, cost, and schedule of the solution.
- Motivation to learn new technologies, processes, and tools in the space business.
- Valued experience in Agile methodology.
