On behalf of an international Hotel Chain, we are recruiting a Cluster Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across its prestigious properties in the Swiss Alps (German part).
This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless functioning and high standards of 5 hotels, Welcome Parking and various associated facilities, including restaurants, staff accommodations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead and manage the engineering team 5 to 7 technicians across multiple properties, ensuring consistent and high-quality maintenance operations.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance across all properties.
Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence within the engineering department.
Ensure compliance with all local and national regulations regarding building operations, safety standards, and environmental laws.
Maintenance Operations:
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring all facilities are in optimal condition.
Coordinate with the hotel management teams to minimize disruption to guests and operations during maintenance activities.
Ensure timely response and resolution of all technical issues reported across properties.
Project Management:
Manage capital expenditure projects related to renovations, upgrades, and new constructions across properties.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure project milestones are met.
Energy Management & Sustainability:
Monitor and optimize energy usage across all properties, ensuring compliance with energy conservation regulations.
Implement and oversee energy management initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint and operational costs.
Lead sustainability efforts, ensuring all properties adhere to the group commitment to environmental responsibility.
Budgeting & Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the technical department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
Monitor and control expenses (OPEX), ensuring financial targets are met.
Define with General Managers yearly CAPEX and monitor monthly expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved processes, technology, and resource management.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with General Managers, department heads, and other key stakeholders to ensure engineering support aligns with business objectives.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to other departments as needed.
Communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of all facilities.
Staff Development & Training:
Recruit, train, and develop a skilled engineering team capable of supporting luxury hospitality operations.
Promote continuous learning and development, ensuring the team stays updated with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
Facilities Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical supervisor position or facilities management role, with at least 3 years in a luxury hospitality environment.
Proven track record of managing large-scale maintenance operations across multiple properties.
Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management.
Experience with project management, budgeting, and financial oversight.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Fluency in English and German. French Italian are a plus.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
