Morgan Philips Executive Search has been retained to recruit an experience General Manager for a 4* hotel located in Geneva. Reporting to HQ (International Hotel Group - Regional VP), we are seeking for an experienced, commercially driven General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of operations at our premier hotel. With a large number of rooms, state-of-the-art event and meeting facilities, and a variety of restaurant and bar offerings, this role demands a dynamic leader with a track record of managing large-scale operations, fostering local connections, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring all departments (front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, events, and maintenance) function at a high standard.
- Ensure seamless coordination between departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes across services and facilities.
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Management
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize room occupancy, events, and F&B revenue, leveraging current market trends.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to drive innovative promotions and expand the hotel’s market reach.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adapt strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Events & Meetings Oversight
- Oversee the management and promotion of the hotel’s events and meetings facilities, ensuring they meet client needs and industry standards.
- Build relationships with corporate clients and event planners to establish the hotel as a leading destination for large events.
Guest Experience & Quality Control
- Foster a guest-first culture by regularly engaging with guests and addressing feedback to improve the overall experience.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing service standards and guest satisfaction scores.
Financial & Budgetary Management
- Develop and manage annual budgets, closely monitoring expenditures to ensure alignment with revenue targets.
- Regularly review and analyze financial reports, making adjustments as necessary to maximize profitability.
Local Networking & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain a strong network within the local community, establishing partnerships that enhance the hotel’s visibility and reputation.
- Represent the hotel at local business events, trade shows, and community functions, strengthening the hotel’s brand presence.
Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and high performance.
- Work with HR to recruit, train, and retain talented team members, focusing on customer service and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 5 years managing large-scale operations (200+ rooms)
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in revenue growth and cost management.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and deliver high-quality service standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Established network within the local business community and a track record of building relationships to enhance business opportunities.
