Principal Scientist

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Principal Scientist to join our dynamic team in Taipei, supporting the development of cutting-edge RNA therapies targeting critical health challenges. Our Taipei lab specializes in precision-slice liver cultures, conducting deep phenotyping of liver tissues from diseased donors to analyze their responses to advanced RNA treatments through imaging, functional assays, and single-cell sequencing. The position will lead efforts to innovate within ex-vivo liver slice and primary human cell culture systems. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with the team, and mentor junior scientists. Expertise in ex-vivo tissue systems, 3D organoid cultures, and RNAi screening is highly desirable. PhD holders or Post Docs aiming to transition into industrial research are encouraged to apply, 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement innovative cell and tissue culture techniques for liver fibrosis and regeneration studies.
• Design and manage large-scale RNAi screens in liver tissues and cells to uncover novel targets.
• Collaborate with international teams across US, UK, and Taiwan sites.
• Lead and support junior scientists in the lab.
• Manage external collaborations and suppliers.
• Present experimental findings to internal and external teams.
• Participate in global and cross-site projects.

Qualifications:

• PhD in biological sciences with a proven track record of scientific achievements, such as first-author publications or patents.
• Preferable experience in biotech startups or industry.
• Expertise in 3D tissue cultures, organ-on-chip systems, RNAi screens, and high-content imaging.
• Strong background in biology and cellular model development.
• Experience with high-throughput workflows and large-scale screens.
• Highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Proactive with strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Desirable: proficiency in data analysis with R.
