Job summary:
- For a specific NPI product you will be responsible from the initial concept all the way to the first production series.
- With a creative and efficient approach you start from an idea or concept, you sketch out the product and you make the 3D designs in SolidWorks . In this creative phase you will be having a sparring partner in the founder-inventor of Company
- You will do the necessary simulations in Solidworks.
- You will collaborate with the in-house prototyping department to manufacture your 1st physical piece.
- Based on the 1st prototype, you will test and improve to increase the quality and manufacturability of your design.
- Finally you will make unambiguous and clear 2D & assembly engineering drawings so they have all the information for the respective stages of manufacturing & assembly.
- You will also define the Technical Datasheets (TDS) for quality control and you will assist in designing the calibers for quality and assembly control.
- In collaboration with the sourcing department your design concept will then move to the production stage in which you will follow up the first production series to ensure our high-end quality.
- You will administer your progress in the PLM system.
- You report to the R&D Manager.
- Master in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering required or equivalent through work experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
- Good knowledge of different manufacturing processes related to mechanical assembly and manufacturing .
- Profound knowledge of a 3D design software like SolidWorks.
- Experience with PLM system is an advantage.
- English communication skills.
- Willingness to work in Belgium for a period of 2-3 years
