Key Responsibilities
Commercial Responsibilities
- Develop high-level relationships with SG Financial Sponsor clients to promote the entire range of SG’s capabilities, focusing on high value-added business such as:
- Strategic financing
- Project finance
- Asset finance
- Corporate finance and capital markets advisory
- Collateralized financing
- Hedging
- Transaction banking products
- Coordinate actions around strategic and target clients with business lines, fostering transversal business and cross-selling activities.
- Foster cross-border dialogue with the European and US investment banking platforms.
- Originate and manage the execution of mandates to achieve budgets for FSC APAC and FSC globally.
Business Development
- Identify business opportunities with significant potential for the organization.
- Understand and anticipate sponsors’ needs and strategies in Asia Pacific, sharing knowledge with all relevant business lines.
- Provide business lines access to clients’ decision-makers.
- Direct sponsor clients to appropriate business line specialists according to their stated requirements.
- Establish and foster a relationship of trust with each client, from Heads of Capital Markets to Partners, and CFO/CEO levels.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the institution, monitoring all contacts initiated by business lines.
- Develop detailed client plans to establish pipeline opportunities and priorities for resource planning, overall attractiveness of clients, and capital allocation.
- Implement the bank’s commercial strategy for each client.
- Share responsibility for meeting annual budgets for each client and the overall portfolio.
- Promote and cross-sell business lines across the entire SG Group.
- Increase the share of the accessible wallet and maintain RGCP above target levels.
Credit and Operational Risks
- Share responsibility for managing and controlling credit counterparty risk in liaison with CRE and RISQ.
- Be fully involved in all credit-related topics around the client’s portfolio, managing regular files and discussing more complex cases (e.g., watch list).
- In line with SG policies, monitor potential regulatory risk, fraud risk, execution errors, and possible commercial disputes with clients or other parties.
Conduct Risk & Regulatory Responsibilities
- Monitor operational and conduct risks across the client’s portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures in managing client relationships.
- Ensure timely intervention when breaches occur and analyze root causes to prevent repeated issues.
Duty of Care
- Ensure confidentiality on all client-sensitive matters by using relevant compliance tools (e.g., Chinese Wall, Gilt list, Trees).
- Thoroughly follow all KYC requirements for existing clients and prospects.
- Promote a strong culture of compliance within GLBA.
