Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies that align supplier capabilities with business and product requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to establish sourcing approaches that meet organizational objectives.
- Identify and secure strategic component partners, fostering and maintaining long-term strategic partnerships.
- Oversee the AVL, including supplier capability assessments, selection, qualification, performance management, and contract negotiations.
- Organize and lead quarterly/periodic business reviews (QBR/PBR) with vendors, ensuring alignment of supplier performance and capabilities with business needs.
- Facilitate supplier roadmap discussions, influencing key suppliers’ product and technology roadmaps to align with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Manage Request for Quotations (RFQs) for components, continuously driving cost optimization through cost analysis, market evaluation, alternative sourcing, and pricing benchmarking.
- Periodically negotiate component pricing to support business schedules and promotional plans.
- Identify and mitigate business risks through comprehensive risk assessment and strategic planning.
- Conduct purchasing spend analyses and future procurement forecasts to identify business opportunities and manage risks effectively.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and contracts to ensure favorable terms for the organization.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving critical negotiations and supplier-related issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, including RFQs, pricing updates, expenditure tracking, and projections.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, with expertise in managing commodity/product suppliers.
- At least 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
- Proven track record of supplier and supply chain management with at least 5 years of direct experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English, with demonstrated negotiation expertise.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across time zones and cross-functional teams.
- A team-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in data analysis with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is required.
