Our client, a leading logistics firm, is seeking a Regional Climate and Environmental Strategy Leader to steer its sustainability efforts in Europe, ensuring the company's commitment to environmental excellence.

- Collaborate with both regional and head office teams to position our organization as a front-runner in environmental and climate change initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all matters related to climate and environmental concerns with the head office’s Climate and Environment team.
- Oversee the development and execution of the Regional Climate and Environmental Strategy, which includes efforts in climate adaptation and mitigation, pollution reduction, fostering a circular economy, and preserving biodiversity.
- Oversee the establishment and tracking of regional environmental and climate-related performance indicators, ensuring accurate management, oversight, and reporting of these metrics.
- Lead the region’s efforts towards carbon footprint reduction, aligning with the organization's Science-Based Targets (SBTs), which includes overseeing projects related to energy efficiency, transport optimization, and the exploration of renewable energy options.
- Present updates and progress on the Climate Strategy to the regional leadership team.
- Facilitate a comprehensive understanding and implementation of climate and environmental goals across all regional levels.
- Develop a monitoring system for environmental regulations within the region to ensure proactive compliance and collaboration with local country managers.
- Spearhead environmental initiatives that aim to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, promote a circular economy, and reduce our carbon footprint.
- Foster a network of environmental champions across the countries within the region.
- Craft and execute a regional strategy for climate adaptation.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing department in creating sustainable, low-carbon solutions for our clients, working closely with the business development team.
- Aid the Sales & Marketing department with the generation and provision of CO2 impact reports and analyses as per client requests.
Requirements & Profile:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably with an engineering background.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience in related roles or within the logistics sector, at a national or international level.
- A proactive change agent with a strong capacity for driving and embracing transformation.
- Exceptional analytical abilities.
- A profound interest in environmental and climate change issues.
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting practices.
- Additional qualifications, such as ISO 14001 & 50001, ISO 14064, are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with field personnel and top management in English and additional European languages.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite.
