Our client, an international retail company, is seeking for a Finance Director for its offices in Madrid. 

The main responsibilities that the hired candidate will hold, as follows:
  • Analyse the business and financial processes and procedures of the company, setting up new ways of working. 
  • Work closely within all the business directors to get detailed information to prepare all the reports and forecasting of the company.
  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies, including budgets, financial projections, and risk analysis.
  • Oversee cash management, liquidity, and investments to maximize returns and ensure the availability of funds for daily operations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management, shareholders, and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and current regulations.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Collaborate closely with the management team in the formulation and execution of corporate strategy, assessing the financial impact of strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with investors, analysts, and credit rating agencies to communicate the company's financial position and promote market confidence.
  • Supervise compliance with applicable financial, tax, and compliance regulations, ensuring that the company operates within legal and ethical boundaries.
The ideal candidate will hold the following requirements:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Possession of a postgraduate degree (MBA, Master's in Finance, etc.) will be positively valued.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of previous experience in senior financial positions, with at least 3-5 years in leadership roles such as Chief Financial Officer or similar.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, risk management, financial legislation, and financial information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, interpret results, and formulate strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to lead multifunctional teams, foster collaboration, and motivate employees towards achieving financial objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
  • Results-oriented approach, with the ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions for the benefit of the company and its stakeholders.
