Position: Operation Manager (Wharehouse Management)
Location: Tainan, Taiwan
Team Management: 12 (Warehouse & Customer Service)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director to manage budgets and control local expenses according to budget expectations.
- Execute day-to-day business operations, lead the local team, escalate issues, and coordinate with the Director on strategy implementation, performance driving, and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding material handling and shipping; enforce adherence to requirements and advise stakeholders on necessary actions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders (Safety, HR, etc.) to maintain warehouse security and compliance with regulations.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through physical counts, reconciliation with the warehouse management system, and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning new layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing repair work orders, and requisitioning replacements.
- Communicate with the Operations Director and Accounting Team to achieve financial objectives by reviewing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Meet warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results.
- Recruit, select, orient, and train warehouse staff in collaboration with Recruiting, Retention, and Training Teams.
- Ensure employees understand their roles, responsibilities, company culture, and career development pathways.
- Manage staff performance through coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, and appraising job results.
- Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
- Collaborate with leadership, subject matter experts, key stakeholders, and peers to achieve strategic goals.
- Anticipate and track market risks, operational needs, and industry standards to provide strategic solutions for stakeholders.
- Play a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and change control processes.
- Review metrics to identify trends and assess opportunities for process and performance improvements.
- Identify and investigate issues to establish solutions, remove barriers, and escalate to stakeholders as necessary.
Requirements:
- 10+ years Warehouse/Inventory Management experience in Logistic Industry. With experience in speciality product management experience is advanced.
- Demonstrated business development acumen and customer focus.
- Experience working with demanding customers in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to develop ideas, collaborate with others, present persuasive arguments, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective performance management skills to train, develop, and build a cohesive and successful team.
- Excellent observation skills.
- Capability to achieve high levels of performance in operating a safe and productive warehouse.
