Position Description
 
Title: Senior Director, Operations Controller
 
Department: Accounting
 
Reports to: Corporate Controller, VP
 
Overview:  As the Senior Director, you will be leading the accounting operations team and be responsible for controlling the projects. There will be a strong cooperation with the Asset Managers and the Corporate Controller. You monitor the project revenues, costs and scenario’s, responsible for related project reports and cashflow management, challenge the business regarding findings and manage the relating risks proactively. In addition, there are a handful of Spanish owned subs that have statutory filing and reporting requirements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for project control of dedicated project(s), including risk management, revenue  cash flow management, cost control and payments, variance analysis, reporting and general monitoring progress;
  • Responsible for the consolidation of all projects;
  • Responsible for team of 35 project accountants that manage all the portfolio activities;
  • Acting as a confidant for the business by providing solicited and unsolicited advice;
  • Monitoring and actively manage the total risk profile and claim overview of the projects;
  • Understanding divergences within the approved project budgets;
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to improve the project financial results;
  • Delivering regular reports and updates of the project financial status. All reports must be produced accurately, one time and including analysis and clear explanations;
  • You will have a proactive role in applying all compliance rules and regulations;
  • Involvement in the continuous improvement program for project control process and risk management
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field. Master’s Degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project control with large complex projects;
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy industry highly preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems;
  • Strong analysis and reporting skills;
  • Accurate mindset;
  • Teamwork;
  • Team management skills, preference is experience managing a team of 20+ individuals
  • Independence;
  • Passion for complex projects;
  • Excellent professional communication skills in English and Spanish.
