At Fyte, we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel for a company in the Financial Services Industry in Mexico City.

Responsabilities: 
  1. Assisting the legal team in reviewing, negotiating and drafting legal documents in relation to simple and complex corporate governance and commercial agreements, contracts, statements etc. 
  2. Giving accurate legal direction or advice to the team member on a wide range of legal activities that influence the organization and business of company. 
  3. Independently conducting legal research in relation to laws and regulations of all business areas of company. 
  4. Translating various legal documents. (From Spanish to English & English to Spanish) 
  5. Working closely with departmental and group leadership to support business initiatives, advising on contract implementation, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals. 
  6. Helping establish and maintain the legal-related issues, regulatory system and corporate governance issues with the group. 
  7. To anticipate and manage the legal risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations, to provide advices and suggestions on decision making. 
  8. Other duties as assigned and requested. 
Requirements: 
  • At least Bachelor degree from an accredited law school in Mexico or overseas. 
  • Familiar with and in-depth knowledge of Company Law, Labor Law, Civil Law and relevant laws and regulations, especially SOFOM (Sociedad Financiera de Objeto Múltiple) and SOFIPOS (Sociedades Financieras Populares).  
  • Minimum 3+ years experiences in law firm, PE/VC investments or legal departments of banking or financial institution related companies. 
  • Excellent communication skills, Fluent in both Spanish and English.  
  • Strong sense of responsibility, be able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Be able to work in a fast pace, high-growth environment. 
  • Quick learner, be able to grasp complex new business concepts, good commercial acumen and creative approach to problem-solving.
