Our client is a single family office active in real estate investments across Europe, private equity and venture capital.
We’re currently seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager who can add a fresh, unique perspective to our team. In this role, the manager will oversee the lifecycle of a portfolio of alternative investments, mainly real estate, conducting portfolio-level reviews, optimizing standards, identifying areas for improvement, reporting on performance, and training staff members.

Responsibilities :
  • Investment Monitoring:
    • Build and run portfolio management models for investment strategies that fall within the scope of the role, which initially consist of real estate development projects and industrial businesses operating in Portugal.
    • Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative performance analyses of the assets under management
    • Provide monthly reporting to Management using metrics and data visualization tools effectively to report portfolio performance and support decision-making processes      
    • Support the local asset managers in all aspects of managing the portfolio to ensure daily tasks are handled efficiently
    • Develop and implement portfolio management methodologies and best practices to build on the team’s skills and abilities
    • Contribute to the establishment of common practices, tools, and templates for portfolio and project management, and ensure adherence to the group’s standards
    • Prepare ad hoc analysis and be proactive in providing insightful analyses and creative solutions at portfolio management level
  • Transactions
    • Analysis and execution of real estate acquisitions in close collaboration with the local teams
    • Coordination of activities between the holding level and local level to ensure proper execution of transactions
    • Overseeing the design and implementation of underwriting models for acquisitions
    • Preparation of the profitability analyses at project and portfolio level jointly with local teams
 
Required skills and qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in investment management, preferably with a focus on portfolio management
  • Strong understating of various investment products, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments
  • Expertise in real estate acquisitions and real estate project financing
  • Expertise in financial analysis and modeling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to various audiences
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to adapt to evolving and dynamic situations
  • Able to persuade internal stakeholders to provide necessary information and collaborate
  • Builder mindset
  • CFA designation or other relevant certifications are considered an asset
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese. French would be a plus as well
  • Personal integrity and discretion
  • The position is based in Geneva, but it involves frequent monthly trips (2-3 days per trip) to Portugal or other European places as necessary.
