Head of Data Science and Analytics

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data Science and Analytics to lead our team of data professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in leveraging data science and analytics to support business decision-making within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the data science and analytics strategy in alignment with the bank's overall objectives.
• Business Partnership: Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities where data science can drive value.
• Data Governance: Ensure data quality and compliance with regulations and internal policies.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest data science innovations and integrate them into the bank's operations.
• Risk Management: Utilize data analytics to identify and mitigate business risks.
• Performance Measurement: Develop KPIs and ensure strategies are data-informed.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related areas.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, and big data technologies.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: A proven ability to lead and manage teams, and to inspire and motivate staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
• Certifications: Professional certifications in data science or related fields are a plus.
• Project Management: Experience managing large-scale data analytics projects.
