- Review and approve journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations prepared by the accounting team.
- Ensure accurate and timely inventory accounting close each month and quarter.
- Manage the preparation and recording of reserves for excess and obsolete inventory, lower of cost or market, warranty claims, supplier rebates, royalties, and other inventory-related adjustments.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to the cost accounting team and business units, ensuring consistent application of accounting principles.
- Work closely with operations, planning, business Units, and finance teams to analyze company products and inventory balances, review overheads and absorption variances, and generate accurate reports to support continuous improvement.
- Oversee cycle count procedures and review inventory adjustments.
- Analyze scrap costs and recommend corrective actions.
- Engage with cross-functional teams on mergers and acquisitions, including accounting for inventory write-ups and amortization, and integrating acquired entities.
- Establish robust accounting controls for return merchandise authorizations and reverse logistics.
- Monitor freight and tariff costs to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
